I need to write this before I really forget about it. Before I start, let me tell you some background. Let me start with this: Once upon a time in a far away land…… Hahaha, just kidding.

I knew Kuan Kong and Ang Ku from Penang Hokkien. I think I no need to introduce Ang Ku anymore, since he is very famous now. Let me introduce Kuan Kong to you all, in case you don’t know who is he. Kuan Kong is one of the early member in Penang Hokkien. He joined many of the show in the early stage. But later, he was busy in his study and left PGHK for quite some time. Remeber his famous quote? Do you know why his name is Kuang kong? If you don’t know, go find it out from Penang Hokkien Podcast. ๐Ÿ™‚

He was back to Malaysia and in Singapore for the time being. I message him in MSN one day and knew that he was in Singapore. Coincidentally, I’m going to Singapore when he was there. Since I cannot meet him in Malaysia, I plan to meet him in Singapore. Kuan Kong agreed. Of cause, the gathering is with Ang Ku as well.

I waited them for around 30 minutes in Jurong Entertainment Center. I only can call Ang Ku but not Kuan Kong. He doesn’t have phone there. Luckily, he turned up at last. Ang Ku reached later. We were hungry and we went for the food court and got some food. We have chicken rice, vegetables and wantan soup. The chicken rice was so so, not that good. The vegetables were bad! There were in sweet soy sauce! My god, can you imagine vegetables dip in sweet sauce? Terrible! The wantan soup was ok.

img_4358.JPG

Is this looked familiar? YES, Tox used it before and put his head on it. Remember? HAHA.
img_4356.JPG

After lunch, we went to China Town. Kuan Kong suggested to go visit the temple. For the temple posts and photos, please go to Temple Exhibition Photograph and Buddha Tooth Relics Temple.

After the temple visit, we went to Cineleisure in Orchard for Karaoke.

To be continue…… Kuan Kong’s photos coming up next!

(Hey, Kuan Kong, you must pay me advertisment fee for promoting and introducing you here!)

I met up with my friend BT on Sunday, 9 Dec at Woodlands Causeway Point (Yes, I’m back on the Singapore Trip, Hehehe). It’s raining on that day, I still remember. BT was already there waiting for me.

I was hungry at that time and so BT. We straight away went to search for the food. We cannot make the decision and at last we went into this shop, Yoshinoya. It’s japanese food. They have few kind of set lunch. I ordered the salmon set and BT ordered beef set.

This is not the Yoshinoya that we have our lunch. This is another branch located at Marina Square.
img_4530.JPG

img_4509.JPG

Do you notice it has 2 layers of tray? You know why?
img_4510.JPG

Here’s why. The rice is at the bottom tray.
img_4511.JPG

The food was too salty!! I’m not a person who will eat too salty food. So, you can know what I will comment. The food was not really special, you can actually find it from any of the japanese stall. It’s just a piece of salmon, salad, and fried food (I’m not sure what is that. It’s some sort like “chim zhor”. I don’t know how to say it in English. Anyway, you can see from the photo.). Not really recommended, unless you want to try it out. No next time for me.

Later, we went to quite a lot of places, including Bugis Junction, China Town, Suntec and Marina Square. Remember the Earthquake? Yes, I have my 2nd Earthquake on that day in Suntec. ๐Ÿ™‚ We walked the whole afternoon, walked until my leg pain. For the dinner, we have it in Burger King.

It’s nice for me to meet up BT in Singapore. Hopefully he will get his broadband soon. Then we can chat and he can read my blog! Hahahaha. ๐Ÿ˜€

I like Earthquake so much. Don’t misunderstand ya…… The Eqarthquake I mentioned is not the Earthquake that you think off. It’s a name of the ice cream in Swensens. It contains 8 scoops of ice cream. You can choose the flavour you want from the menu. I already forgot how many of them all together.

I have 2 Earthquakes in Singapore. Yes, 2!!! Hoon treat me one and another one is treated by my friend, BT. I have 2 Earthquakes in 3 days time, so happy. Thanks to Hoon and BT.

I still remember the very first time I have this Earthquake ice cream. My sister came back from US and brought us there. The Swensens was located in Tanjung Bunga. I think at the time, that Swensens is the one and only Swensens in Penang. We went with my mom. I cannot remember why my brother was not there. Anyway, I fall in love with Earthquake from that time onwards.

Now, we can get Swensens in Queensbay Mall and Autocity. For those who like ice cream, Swensens is another choice for you. Ok, I will stop writing and let you all see the Earthquake!!

Bukit Panjang Swensens (or Bukit Timah?? I forgot. Haha.)

I didn’t expect to have Part 2 on this topic. But somehow CS commented that we can actually do it in blogspot itself. I never tried. Since he said it’s working and I actually see it from his blog, I share it to all of you (Just in case you didn’t read his comment).

Steps:

1. Go to the Page Element in blogspot. (I hope you know how to go to page element, if don’t know, knock your head on the wall. Hahahaha, just kidding.) It’s under Template > Page Element.

comments2.JPG

2. Add a Page Element. Choose Feed and click Add to Blog.

comments3.JPG

3. Enter the URL as below: http://xxx.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default. For example, http://xinqing-xinjing.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default. Click Continue.

comments4.JPG

4. You can edit the title and select the option you want. Only maximum of 5 comments can be displayed. You can preview on the option you have selected.

comments5.JPG

Besides comments, if you want to view your recent post, you can follow the same steps but when enter the URL, change the comments to posts, like this:
http://xinqing-xinjing.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default.
Understand? I think this one is not so useful since we already have Blog Archive.

So, which one you prefer? The Widget or the Feed?

For me, I prefer the Widget. Besides author, date and comment, I also can know which post is actually readers left the comments on.

* Thanks CS for the sharing on another way of adding recent comments into blogspot.

I’m going to stop my Singapore trip post for today. I still have quite a number to post but I decided to write something else other than Singapore Singapore Singapore non stop. Si peh boring right? (Si peh is like Damn in English. It’s Hokkien. Just in case you don’t know what it means.)

I’m having a difficult time to find out who left comments in my blogspot blog especially on old post. It’s impossible for me to view all my posts everyday just to find out who has left the comment. Luckily, there is a widget called Recent Comments that solve my problem. It can show all the recent comments your reader left. Cool huh? (FYI, other blog hosting like WordPress has this feature embedded into it.)

Today, when I browse through Hoon’s blog, I found she has this feature on the side bar. There is a link below the recent comment column that says “Add this widget to your blog“. Without any hesitation, I clicked on it. It came out this page.

widget1.JPG

How it works?

Just fill in your blog URL into the Blog Address column. Before clicking Apply, you can choose how many comments you want it to display, whether to show comment date and post title and how many character for the summary size. After clicking the Apply, continue to click Add widget to my blog. The below page will appear.

widget2.JPG

Just select the blog you want to add this widget into. Normally only one blog is showing unless you have a couple of blogspot blogs. Edit the title as you wish. Click ADD WIDGET and it’s all done. You can see the Recent Comments appear under Page Element page.

widget3.JPG

The outcome will be as below:

widget4.JPG

It’s so easy, right? Now you will no longer miss any comments even though your reader left a comment in your very very old post.

p/s Hoon, I help you to “pak kong kor” (advertise) your bog, I want my commission ya…… ๐Ÿ˜€

On the day I met AngKu and Kuan Kong, we went to Chinatown. I forgot why we decided to go there, maybe it’s near to the Cineleisure in Orchard. Out of my expectation, Kuan Kong suggested to visit the temple near by. I was like “WAH…… Go to temple lo…… Unexpected wor…… Kuan Kong also wants to go temple”. AngKu was having the same thinking as mine. Why we think the same? If you see Kuan Kong, then you will know la…… He is not that kind of people who will go to temple from his outlook. Hahahahaha. Anyway, AngKu guided us to go there. AngKu knew about it. For sure he knew.

The temple was newly built, 2 years before, it was not there. The temple is having the exhibition, photograph exhibition. Besides, there was also the story of Buddha and all kind of stone carving and Buddha statue. On the top floor, there was a nice garden, full of orchid. Such a nice view. Oh, before I forgot, the temple called “Fo Ya Si”.I don’t know the English name, so sorry. Maybe AngKu knew about it. Anyone who know, please help to leave on the comment ya…… ๐Ÿ™‚ In English, it’s called Buddha Tooth Relics Temple Singapore (BTRTS). Thanks AngKu for providing the name!!

I took some of the nice photos from the exhibition. I was amazed on the photography skills they have. The photos were great! No wonder they won prizes for the competition.

I like to go IKEA. I just like to see the decorations they have. They decorate it in such a nice way. I have gone to IKEA in US and KL. Now, Singapore’s IKEA. ๐Ÿ™‚

img_4324.JPG

Hoon brought me there. We just walked around without buying anything. I think the main purpose we go there just to have IKEA tour and have lunch! Hahahaha, always food.

IKEA is famous for its meatballs. Hoon ordered for me. She also ordered chicken wings, broccoli’s soup, and fish and chip and a cheese cake. (I forgot about the cheese cake, I suddenly remembered and add it in). We cannot finished the chicken wing and cheese cake. Hoon let me took home. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just curious, why Penang doesn’t want to have one IKEA? Is it not enough land? Or is it not high demand? Hmmmm……….

After posting so many good food (Although I still have a lot waiting for me to post), I want to share with you the bad food in Singapore. In future, don’t ever order the food that I post here. If not, you will regret.

I went out with Ang Ku and Kuan Kong on Saturday. We went to China town there and have some dessert since we are thirsty. Ang Ku ordered Chendol, I ordered Mango and Honey Dew Ice Pudding for me and Kuan Kong. First, the portion is very small. So little!! Second, when we put the dessert into our mouth, my goodness……. Totally not nice!! Third, it’s not cheap! The Mango dessert costs $4!! Can you imagine that? The previous one that I have it in the food court is much much nicer and cheaper!! For the Chendol, it was the worst Chendol I had in my whole life! I never have such a Chendol before!! The taste is so salty, like you are drinking a slat water. So, don’t go and eat there if you come to Singapore! TWO Thumbs DOWN!!

Another bad food is my all time favourite, Wantan Mee. I joined my cousin and aunties to the shopping mall today to have breakfast. It’s the Hong Kong style food court. I didn’t consider it as a restaurant since it’s open air. It’s located at IMM mall 3rd floor, just in front of Daiso. The Wantan Mee costs $4.30 per plate! How expensive it was. If it’s nice, then ok la…… But it’s not. I still prefer the Wantan Mee with Char Siew. Not recommended. Not worth it!

In order to view the Mysterious Hoon, you need to do some homework. There will be no free lunch in this world.

Here’s the steps:
1. Go to My Mood, My Feeling. Go to the month that I have the most posts. Check on the 17th post. Go to the 7th paragraph and 7th word. Count the character for the word. Get the number, a.

2. Go to Sunny Side Up Foodie. Check out the post about all time favourite. Count the prawn. Get the number, b.

3. Go to BLOG it with ALLEN. Check out the Wantan Mee post. Count the Char Siew (Barbeque Meat) in the Wantan Mee. Get the number, c.

4. Maths time! Multiply a with c then minus b. The answer will be the password for the Mysterious Hoon.

Have fun!
