I went to Mommy Wang Restaurant to have lunch the other day with my colleagues. I heard from my friends, said the food there quite nice and the price is reasonable. I decided to try it out.

Mommy Wang Restaurant is a double storey building. The 1st floor is the cooking area, the dining place is on 2nd floor. The environment there not bad. I ordered Taiwanese Fried Pork Ribs set while my friends ordered fist fillet set and “3 layers” pork set.

photo-0361.jpg

It comes with the rice and 3 other dishes. For drinks, if you order green tea or red tea, you can get it with 50 cents less. Oh, one more thing, if you bring along your own cutlery, you can have additional 50 cents off. This is a good idea, right?

photo-0363.jpg

From Jan 15 to Feb 29, if you spend over RM20, you can get a token. For 1 token, you can redeem 1 pudding; 2 tokens, 1 tea type drink; 3 tokens, 1 fruit juice drink; 4 tokens 1 lunch box; 5 tokens, 1 special imported gift from Taiwan.

They also provide delivery. You can call 04-2613339 for Georgetown area or 04-6421339 for Bayan Baru Area. I went to the Bayan Baru outlet, it’s located beside Sunshine Square, same roll as Eden. Call them if you don’t know where is it.

One question, the card for the token sticker is actually from Uncle Jimmy. Is Uncle Jimmy the husband of Mommy Wang?

OK, this will be the last post on food I have in Singapore.

I went to Golden Mile on the last day to take bus back to Penang. After getting the bus number, we (my aunt and I) decided to have some food since it’s still early. We went around the Golden Mile Complex and finally decided to have dinner at this thai restaurant. We just simply pick since this is the one with more customers.

We ordered fried rice and tom yam. The fried rice was normal but I like the tom yam. These were the last food I have during this Singapore Trip.

Singapore~~~ Wait for my next trip. I will go again, for sure.

For those who are doing the paid post, you will know the relationship between Google and PPP. Google doesn’t like PPP. If you are doing PPP and Google found out on that, your PR will drop to 0 no matter how high is your rank.

The other day, I found out something funny. Guess what? PPP was on the Google Ad on my blog! I was like huh? How can this be? Google seems to ban PPP since don’t know when. But it’s really happen. Let me show you the ad that appear on my blog. I have captured it.

ppp-on-google.JPG

To me, if Google ban PPP, PPP will not advertise on Google anymore and Google will not accept the advertisement from PPP. This is common sense right? Then why the ad will appear? Is it because Google wants more money and don’t care who advertise on them? No idea. You know?

For those who doesn’t know what is PR and PPP:
PR – Page Rank
PPP – Pay Per Post

I’m not sure why our country Malaysia cannot learn from other country on the technology stuff. Don’t talk about others, only talk on the parking system will do.

Our neighbour Singapore has a good parking system in most of the shopping mall. Each car will install a device like our smart tag. Inside the device will have a smart card like our touch n go. When you go for a parking, the system will scan your card. When you left, the system will scan again and deduct the amount from the card.

For us, most of the shopping mall, we need to get the parking ticket. After shopping, we need to go find the machine to pay for the ticket. Then, we need to take the ticket with us. When we left the parking, we need to insert the ticket into the machine in order for the bar to open and let your car go through.

I don’t understand why we cannot learn the technology from them?

Another thing, the parking lot in the mall will have the indicator to let you know how many spaces are available for each level. When you go to that level, you can know whether there is any available parking lot by just looking on the light on top of that particular row. If it’s available, it will be green. If not, you can see the red light. It’s very easy for the consumer.

Indicator is showing how many parking lots are available.
img_4623.JPG

Red light means no parking lot is available.
img_4624.JPG

See the Green light? Yes, you can park there!
img_4625.JPG

Again, why we cannot learn the technology from them? Is it because it will cost a lot? If it is so, why they can spend millions or even billions of money doing those stuff that not benefit the people? Or they are actually “masuk” (masuk is a Malay word, means go into) all the money into their own pocket? This is only one of the example. If really want to talk about this topic, I think we can just talk for days.

I’m really don’t understand, do you?

I know I know, no need to remind me, I know it’s already more than a month, but I still want to post it. The breakfast was taken around China Town area. I have the so call “Xiao Guo Mian”, which is the noodle plus the soup. It costs $6.90 or $8.90, I’m not really remember. 😀 Just a normal noodle, not special.

img_4628.JPG

img_4629.JPG

img_4630.JPG

After the breakfast, we go to have the chicken pie. We suppose to have this as breakfast, my cousin suggested it. However, my aunt doesn’t want to have the chicken pie as breakfast. So we went to the restaurant opposite instead. I want to try out the chicken pie and my aunt wants coffee, since the restaurant we have for breakfast doesn’t have coffee, we walked over to the shop again.

The chicken pie was not bad. I ordered a quarter pie. They only have quarter, half and whole.

img_4632.JPG

img_4631.JPG

My aunt ordered a double expresso. Initially she ordered a normal expresso but due to her “kia su”-ness, she changed her mind. (Hahaha, don’t know she will kill me or not for saying her like this. But she doesn’t have my blog address, so still OK.) She regret for ordering that. You know why? You will know why from the photo below:

The cup was so small!!!!!

I have my Mos Burger with Hoon. Of cause, I ordered the Rice Burger (Headmaster’s recommendation). It’s special, tasty and yummy. I think I ordered the one with Unagi, if I’m not mistaken (It’s already a month since I’m back from Singapore!!!! And I still have not finished posting all the posts yet. My goodness! @_@)

img_4626.JPG

What did Hoon order? Don’t ask me, I forgot. Maybe you can tell me by looking at the photo below. Is it a fish fillet burger? Looks alike. 😀

I went to TESCO Extra the other day with my mom to pick up her glasses. Since already there, we went into the departmental store to walk around and see whether we have anything to buy or not.

We walked to the frozen area and my mom found this, Yam Dessert. It got 4 servings inside the packet. I checked on the price and it’s a WOW for me, RM11++, means around RM3 for one serving.

photo-0344.jpg

I’m not sure how nice it will be since it’s frozen. Anyone try this kind of frozen dessert before?

What is Nuffnang Glitterati? It’s an exclusive program from Nuffnang. I received 3 emails from Nuffnang about this program. After some reading, for those who registered on Nuffnang, you will be automatically included into this IF (Yes, they have IF!!!) you do NOT have any ads from any other ad network that originates from South East Asia.

I think I’m pretty safe (Am I?????????) on this since I have removed Advertlets from both of my blogs. I only have Google Ads. I don’t think Google Ads is considered as the network from South East Asia. Right?

You can know more about this program from HERE. Oh, before I forgot, this Glitterati will take effect automatically from the 13th of January 2008, just 4 days from now. Will it increase my earning from Nuffnang? I’m not sure. Let’s see……

I got this email just now, from Josh Lim, Advertlets with the subject “Advertlets.com – We’re Sorry”. This email explain what is happening for the last 2 days on their domain issue.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

“Josh Lim @ Advertlets”

Hi,

This is Josh Lim here from Advertlets. This message is sent out to all bloggers that have registered with Advertlets in our key markets of Malaysia & Singapore.

Firstly, we admit. We made an error in judgment, and we did not intend for this to happen. And we are very sorry that it did, and would like to apologize for everyone affected.

Some small mistakes are resolved easily, and affect a few. And some mistakes, however small, can affect millions.

Most of you are probably disappointed, confused or angry at the recent downtime that has happened, that has cut off access to your blogs. Over the past few days, we have been doing everything we can to restore service, as well as answering e-mails, phone calls, smses, media interviews, and support requests.

Its hard to apologize to more than 15,000 members, and this e-mail was hard to type, but undoubtedly necessary. And first, I’ll probably be best to start by answering questions you might have:

What happened?
=============
A complication in the renewal process caused the Advertlets.com domain to expire, and caused issues for bloggers with our ads installed, which made their blogs redirect to a placeholder page. It was not our intent to do so. Advertlets.com blog users were unable to login to their Advertlets accounts and access the website as well.

How many did it affect?
==================
According to our statistics, it affected 30-65% of traffic to our network over the past 2 days. On most days, we experience between 3-4 million ad impressions per day. The viewers of most blogs were affected in some way, depending on the nature of how DNS settings would resolve in different countries and ISPs. Some would resolve faster, some would not, which caused varying experiences for viewers in different places.

What can I do to resolve the problem?
=============================
You can follow some troubleshooting steps listed at http://advertlets.blogspot.com, a site temporarily set up to assist in
this issue. Or, you can remove your code for the time being, and we will notify you when it has been fully resolved.

Whose fault is it?
=============
Ours. The short answer is that it is our fault. The longer answer is that we tried everything we could as soon as we knew, however, some uncontactable and uncooperative parties made it harder. Nevertheless, the blame lies with us, and we will take full responsibility for it, and to resolve it.

What will happen to my current earnings?
===============================
Your current earnings will be retained within the system, and we will continue to serve paid ads for you to continue to earn in future.

If I choose to continue with Advertlets, can I be assured that this will never happen again? And how do you intend to compensate us for the error?
==========================================
The domain has also been renewed, and we will make sure that this can never happen again. We resolve to do better in future, and have more failsafe options available. A financial compensation plan is being worked out, and will be announced on after we have assessed the full situation.

Will we be continuing operations?
=========================
Yes. Paid ads are beginning to be served through the system again in available locations.

Where is service available as of now? How soon until everything is okay?
======================================================
We’ve received reports that most of the DNS has successfully resolved for the following ISPs:
– Jaring (Malaysia)
– TMNet (Malaysia)
– Starhub Maxonline (Singapore)
– PT Telkom (Indonesia)

Service is continuing to be restored throughout the rest of Asia and the world and all service should be fully restored in less than 12
hours.

Its heartening that some have been of great assistance to us in this difficult time, providing us with service updates from their area as well as moral support. But to those that were frustrated, we understand your frustration, and it frustrates us even more to have
been the source of it. All in all, we are still in awe as to how passionate all of you are.

And how many people have chosen to make Advertlets part of their channel of expression. It is our hope that you can continue to do so. Service is close to being 100% restored, and we will be notifying all when service is fully functional, to assist you with your decision on the continued use of our services. Your impressions are your votes. And if you can forgive us, we will make sure your trust is never again misplaced.

We will be making some personnel changes and new additions to ensure that everything – support, ad loading time, code, and more run smoothly in future. Major upgrades to the system are due in February, in the form of Advertlets 2.0 with new ad formats, referrals, earning graphs, social features, and traffic generation facilities. And of course morecontests, advertising revenue and sponsored post opportunities.

We hope that in the next few days we can prove ourselves again to you, nevertheless, our redemption will be in your hands. Once again, we apologize.

Regards,
– –

Although it’s back to normal, I’m not going to put back the ad. Like what I said, I earn not much from Adverlets. I registered on September 2007, until now, I only get RM6++. Actually the total amount in my acount is RM26++. The RM20 is from the review I wrote on their website. 3 months plus and I get RM6++, i think it’s too low!! If I want to cash out the money, I think I need to wait for another few years (The cash out is RM100). I cannot wait that long.

So, I’m not going to continue with Advertlets, unless (YES, I say unless, you know, there will be exceptional case) Advertlets has more better promotions that can attract me.

Bye Bye Advertles.

I forgot where I took this photo. Is it in Bugis Junction? I cannot remember. I just remember it’s on the day I met Ang Ku.

img_4613.JPG

It’s very funny. On the bun itself, it has a chinese note, saying: I’m not real. I asked Ang Ku, can I take the photo? Ang Ku told me go ahead. So, I quickly took my camera and just shoot. Luckily, it’s not blur.

After took the photo, we just walked away. We never tried. It’s a bun with pepper, pork and fresh onion. Look nice, but is it tastes nice? I don’t know. Maybe next time I can go and try it.

Hoon told me she cannot go into her blog, it will direct her into another page. I tried mine, there are the same. It directs us to an advertlets site, which is not the usual website we used to see.

Later, Hoon told me she checked their domain and found this:

This domain name expired on Jan 03, 2008. Click here to renew it.

I just like, how can this happen? I mean, for an advertising company, they should renew their domain before its expired and keep the business running. If it continue like this, no one will come to you anymore.

For those with advertlets ads on your page, remove it and it will solve your problem. I have remove all from both of my blogs.

Actually before this incident, I was already considering whether I want to remove the ads from Advertlets or not, since i’m not earning that much from there. With this issue, I will permanently remove them from my blogs unless they come up to have a better service and most important thing, let me earn more.

So, wait no more, REMOVE NOW!

I met Ang Ku twice when I’m in Singapore. I forgot to bring the stuff to him when we first met, so no choice but to meet up another time. We agreed to meet at the Clarke Quay MRT station at 6pm since Ang Ku was working on that day.

Ang Ku was late again, or should I say I’m too early? Haha, anyway, we manage to meet up again. We went to the Clarke Quay Mall (Is that the name?? I’m not sure). The building was pretty new and the structure was weird. YES, I say WEIRD. Many of the shop units were unoccupied and not many people as well. But, I’m sure, If I go there again this year or next, it will be different!

Since we cannot find any restaurant in the mall that we want, Ang Ku suggested we went for the Taiwanese Food in Bugis. We took a bus there. That will be the one and only time I took the bus during this trip. 🙂 It was raining at that time. It was raining everyday though. Sigh.

The Taiwanese Food were nice! I will go there and eat again if I visit Singapore next time. Thanks Ang Ku for bringing me there. He posted the pics before in his blog, but I will post it again.

It’s like “Lor Mai Kai” but a bit hard, make it not so nice.
img_4593.JPG

This is nice!
img_4594.JPG

The chicken is spicy, very good!
img_4595.JPG

This noodle soup Oyster Mee Sua is a bit sour, I’m not really like it. I think Ang Ku knew since I only ate little and he finished all. Wakakaka.
img_4596.JPG

“Zha Jiang” noodle or so call minced pork with sauce noodle (My very own version). Nice.
img_4597.JPG

This yam “Tang Yuan” is good! Yummy.
img_4598.JPG

Next time if you go Singapore, you can go try it out. It’s in Bugis but I don’t have the address. Oh, this shop is recommended by the Singapore TV station!
