Parking Lot System

I’m not sure why our country Malaysia cannot learn from other country on the technology stuff. Don’t talk about others, only talk on the parking system will do.

Our neighbour Singapore has a good parking system in most of the shopping mall. Each car will install a device like our smart tag. Inside the device will have a smart card like our touch n go. When you go for a parking, the system will scan your card. When you left, the system will scan again and deduct the amount from the card.

For us, most of the shopping mall, we need to get the parking ticket. After shopping, we need to go find the machine to pay for the ticket. Then, we need to take the ticket with us. When we left the parking, we need to insert the ticket into the machine in order for the bar to open and let your car go through.

I don’t understand why we cannot learn the technology from them?

Another thing, the parking lot in the mall will have the indicator to let you know how many spaces are available for each level. When you go to that level, you can know whether there is any available parking lot by just looking on the light on top of that particular row. If it’s available, it will be green. If not, you can see the red light. It’s very easy for the consumer.

Indicator is showing how many parking lots are available.

Red light means no parking lot is available.

See the Green light? Yes, you can park there!

Again, why we cannot learn the technology from them? Is it because it will cost a lot? If it is so, why they can spend millions or even billions of money doing those stuff that not benefit the people? Or they are actually “masuk” (masuk is a Malay word, means go into) all the money into their own pocket? This is only one of the example. If really want to talk about this topic, I think we can just talk for days.

I’m really don’t understand, do you?

Actually we have the indicator showing number of empty parking space. You can see it at Berjaya Time Square and Genting right? But, we don’t have the green light one…

  12. Taoju says:

The parking lot with indicator is available at Sunway Pyramid. It’s very convenient as we could see from far away whether there is any parking lot available.
