| One of the dessert I like, Bubur Cha Cha.
My sister came back for the Chinese New Year and my mom cooked it for her to eat. Normally, Chap Goh Meh is the day for this Bubur Cha Cha. Since she is going back before that day, my mom just cooked it. By the way, Chap Goh Meh is on 21 February 2008, Thursday.
For those who has no idea on what is Chap Goh Meh, Chap Goh means the 15th. Meh is Night. Chap Goh Meh is in Hokkien. It’s the last day (15th day) of the Chinese New Year.
How to make a Bubur Cha Cha? I’m not really know the exact ingredient needed. Coconut Milk will be one of them. Besides, there will be sweet potatos, yam, “ti kuih”, banana, sago, etc.
Now, you no need to wait until Chap Goh Meh, every day you also can get it from dessert stalls.
So, will you cook or have Bubur Cha Cha on Chap Goh Meh?
Seems to be a lot of work, I think I will just have mine in the tong sui stalls on chap goh meh, if they are open. 🙂

oh I love bubur chacha.. yummy but I didn’t know it’s a Chap Goh Mei desert… maybe coz we seemed to be able to get it everyday at the shops.. 🙂
err…. i also wanna ask.. does bubur cha cha got “ti kuih” n banana inside? 1st time hear tat… how was the taste? nice? i normally eat it with yam, sweet potatos, sago…..

I used to LOVE bubur cha cha. Then I dunno why… I started to lose interest in this sweet dish and even got disguisted tasting them… 🙁 Maybe my taste buds gone bad!

I heard that with pisang and ti kueh its called pengat pisang or something like that, although basically it tasted very much like bubur cha cha with more ingredients. Yummy!

Bubur Cha Cha yes it is very yummy and my favourite. For your info the puple colour yam only can get it once a year which is few days before chap goh meh. Those Ubi, Yam, sago and etc have to seperately steam then you cook the sugar water till boil then only put in the coconut milk remember to put in pandan leaf 🙂 trust me add in ti kuih and banana taste nicer.
i love this dessert but never tried with tni kueh before hor. i will cook it this thurs. anyone knows if the tni kueh just cut and throw in ka.. heheh
i also like the pengat durian one.. coconut with pureed durian.. tat one is so yummy but very sinful too..
