My friend made the Loh Bak for the CNY reunion dinner. When I saw the photo she posted, I told her I want to try them. According to her, she was not sure whether the Loh Bak can keep until we meet on the 6th day of CNY. Seems like I am on the lucky side. We have steamboat on that day and she still have a few Loh Bak for us.

I’m so happy I have the chance to taste the Loh Bak. It is yummy! I need to request more next year! 🙂

A clamp is to use to hold the object firmly, without having it to be able to move around. This brings my memory back to the secondary school, when we were asked to saw the wood to make some hand craft during the integrated living skill class. I’m not sure is it belongs to the destaco band clamps. It is a G shape clamp, which is installed on the working table. Clamps come with different types with its own purposes.

Bubur Cha Cha is a dessert that cooked on the 15th day of Chinese New Year. It is a mixture of ingredients like sweet potato (orange, purple and yellow), yam, black-eyed peas, banana and Rice Cake/Chinese New Year’s cake with coconut pandan base soup.

The ingredients need to be separated from the soup especially the rice cake and banana. It is nice to eat in hot soup. Nowadays, you can find the cold version too. For my own preference, I like the hot one. Have you ate yours this year?

Chinese New Year is the time for me to eat all the CNY cookies without thinking much. Among all, I like the Peanut Cookies and Green Pea Cookies. Every year, my mom will make the peanut cookies but not the green pea cookies. It is not that easy to get the green pea powder if compare to peanut powder. Maybe we never make it that is why we have no idea where to get it. Both cookies have similar way for making them. The main difference will be the powder.

The above Green Pea Cookies are given by my aunt. I think her friend gave her that. I can eat non stop until finish the whole bottle. However, I will try to control for not eating too much. If not, I will gain weight. Apart from gaining weight, I need to tell myself to drink as much water as I can for not getting sore throat.

Penang, 3rd February 2013 — About 40 bloggers and public the Children’s Protection Society to distribute food, beverages and gadgets, sponsored by various commercial entities. The Children’s Protection Society (CPS) began as an initiative of Dato’ Nazir Ariff when he was President of the Rotary Club in Penang (1991). It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization catering to the needs of neglected and/or abandoned children in Penang. It was officially launched in April 1992 by Puan Sri Chua Kah Peng. The objectives of CPS are both immediate and longer-term. The immediate objective is to provide children at risk with a safe, supportive and conducive environment (Shelter). Their concerned and focused areas include the emotional and physical development, education, social and recreational skills. At the same time, CPS aims to work with parents and other family members, so that the child can eventually be reunited with his/her family. In the pipeline, they hope to support projects to enhance community-based facilities for childcare and development in areas where such facilities are lacking. They also try to promote a more general awareness of the issues relating to children at risk by being involved in training and discussions.
