One of my favorite Chinese New Year biscuit is Kuih Ka Pek. Once I started to eat, it is hard to stop. It makes you to have the urge to eat more and more, nonstop!

It is not hard to make the Kuih Ka Pek, but the steps are really tedious! Some people will put meat floss inside before fold it up. I like that too. Most of the time, it can only be seen during Chinese New Year period. I have no idea why people don’t make and sell it during normal time. If you are good in making Kuih Ka Pek, you can earn a lot just during the CNY time. This is consider a good side income, for you to have extra earning for the coming new year.

Chocolates have become one of the popular souvenir items for colleagues. Whoever travel to US, when they are back, they will put the chocolates at their cube, asking colleagues to get it from there. If many people back at the same time, you can expect to get a lot of chocolates. Below are the chocolates I got from my friend who went outstation recently.

I have eaten both of them. They are nice. Although they are fattening, I just ate them without having any thoughts. Evil always win when it comes to desserts. Anyway, thanks so much to my friend for the wonderful chocolates. Yum Yum. 🙂

During weekend, when I am lazy to go out and get a take out, I will cook the Nissin instant noodle. I like Nissin if compare to other brand. Nowadays, when cooking the noodle, I will add in some other ingredients. This time, I added intimate crab stick and Japanese Egg.

I bought the Japanese Egg for the Sushi. Since I still have some, I sliced it and put into the noodle. For the crab stick, normally I will just cut into half. However, I sliced it too together with the egg. It looks tasty, isn’t it? From a simple instant noodle, you can actually add in many other ingredients to make it more presentable and tasty.

I seldom go to have toast bread with egg for breakfast. Not because I don’t like it, I am lazy to wake up early in the morning during weekend and drive for 5-10 minutes just to have the breakfast. During weekdays, normally I will not go out for breakfast.

The coffee shop that sells toast bread with egg is very famous. It is located along the road towards to Penang International Airport.

Toast Bread.

Half Boiled Egg.

Roti Bakar with Half Boiled Egg is definitely one of the good breakfast choices for all the Penangites.

I like dessert. When I was in the US, I ate quite a lot of the ice cream, soft serve, frozen yogurt and gelato. I like them so much. However, if talking about the richness and creaminess taste, no one can beat the gelato.

I have this gelato in Gelato Classico. The green tea and the chocolate flavor were just superb. The taste was strong and so good. Not forget to mention about the waffle that came with the gelato. It is another thumbs up. If you never try it, it is a MUST go place for dessert. Yum Yum.

One of the food that you must eat in Hong Kong, Curry Fish Ball.

The fish ball is not that special after all. However, everyone who went to Hong Kong before will definitely eat this. You can get the fish ball almost everywhere, especially in Mong Kok. It costs around HKD7-8 for 10 pieces.

I like Japanese food very much, especially Sashimi. Normally, I seldom order this dish because it is not really cheap. If I have the chance, I will do so.

I bought a take out the other day. The portion is quite generous. It has 4 types with 3 slices each. I like it so much! I will definitely go and order this again.

I like Goober. When I was small, I don’t know it is called Goober. I just know it is peanut butter mix with grapes jam. That time, it is not cheap to me. Until now, Goober’s price is still high, but I can afford to have it now.

There is another version, peanut butter mix with strawberry jam. I tried that once and I am not really like it if compare to the original. Sometimes, I will just scoop it with a spoon and ate it without any bread. Yummy. I just finished mine this morning. Maybe I will go get another soon.

During the weekend, I went to the coffee shop near my house for dinner, as usual. I cannot think of what to have. The most simple food to order that come into my mind will be the fried rice. So, I ordered the normal fried rice. While waiting, I think of getting the Satay from the same coffee shop, and combine with the fried rice, become the Satay Fried Rice. Such a good idea.

After getting my fried rice, I went towards the Satay stall and ordered. Once I got home, I rearrange the fried rice and satay in the plate for photo taking purpose.

Nice right? You can try out this combination in future. It is really nice, I just love it!

So, have you guessed it correct on the food I posted previously? Yes, it is Koay Kak!

Now, the Koak Kak is seldom pack into this kind of cone shape. Many of the hawkers use the plastic instead.

Normally, I will only eat this once in a blue moon. It is too oily to me. I started to avoid oily food as much as I can. It is better for my health. No doubt, Koay Kak is nice. Take it once a while should be OK. 🙂

I seldom see the seller pack the food like this anymore. Normally, they will just use the plastic bag instead. This one is bought by my colleague. I am not sure where she bought it. But, if I am not mistaken, there is one stall in Sungai Nibong also using this packaging.

Do you know what is the food? I will let you know in the next post. 🙂

The one and only time I will eat the Nasi Lemak from Medan Selera Sri Weld is when I need to go renew my passport. I think this applicable to many of my friends too. This morning, while waiting for the passport collection, I walked there to have the Nasi Lemak.

One Nasi Lemak costs RM1.50. It is not cheap though, if compare to others. The Nasi Lemak is spicy. The spiciness is above average. If you cannot eat spicy food, you better don’t try this. If not, you will regret. Overall, it is nice to have it once in a while.

I went to Egate Old Town last Friday to have dinner with my friend. Flipped through the menu, I am not sure what to order. In the end, I ordered the Curry Mee.

I like the Curry Mee. My another friend recommended it to me few years back. The Curry Mee has fish cakes, chicken and “Dao Pok”. It costs RM6.90. I think this is consider cheap if compare to other food in the menu.

There are a lot of steamboat ingredients left over from the Chinese New Year. I am a bit regret for buying too much. Anyway, I used them for my breakfast.

Tada….. Here is the super breakfast.

It has crab stick, dumpling, meatballs, egg and Enoki mushroom.

This is the first time I have so many ingredients on my noodle. I cannot finish them. I am so full after that.

Yesterday was the day for all the human being. It is the day to have Yu Sang.

I bought one Yu Sang from Tesco, same as last year. It was fun to perform the Lou Sang act. Hopefully in this Rabbit year, it will be a great year for all of us!
