I went to try out the Obake-Ya Japanese Restaurant last Sun with my friends. We celebrate 2 of my friend’s birthday there. I suggested the place since I want to try out the food there. There is also another reason, my friends always cannot make decision where to go every time. It’s better for me to make the decision and all of them just follow. 🙂

Obake-Ya Restaurant is unique! Inside, they design it like a jail or prison. That’s why it attracts many people to go there. I made the reservation 1 week ahead. I just afraid later I forgot about it. We went during lunch time.

img_4998.JPG

img_4991.JPG

We have 6 people and we ordered quite a lot of food. All foods we ordered are not the main course. we share among ourselves. I forgot the name of the food we ordered, but we have sushi, sashimi, unagi, tempura, etc…

For the drink, you may want to order their special drink, which is not in the menu. It’s very special. The drink was in a test tube with a needlesyringe on top. It’s a mix fruit juice. You only need to tell them you want the special drink, they will know what you are ordering.

img_4942.JPG

Overall, the environment was good. The food was OK, some a bit too salty. The price is a little bit high if compare to other Japanese Restaurant. The total bill for 6 of us is around RM295, ~ RM50 per person.

Obake-Ya Japanese Restaurant is located at 9 & 11, Leith Street. For reservation, please call 04-2624772. Business Hours: Sun-Thurs (12pm-2.30pm, 5pm-12am),Fri-Sat (12pm-2.30pm, 6pm-1am).

I think of going to Mizi Bistro to try out the food few months back. But, every time the timing was not good. There is one time, I tried to make a reservation on that day itself but it was too late, all fully reserved. So, didn’t make it at last. I’m so keen to dine there because I read many blogs saying the food was really good.

img_4889.JPG

Today, finally I have the chance to go there. I asked my friend to book it 2-3 days ago and we got the place. Yipee!

We make the reservation at 8pm and we reached there 8.20pm. We reached New World Park around 8.10pm. 10 minutes wasted on finding a car park lot. The car park system was so lousy! That security guard only know how to blow the whistle, useless. I need to round and round for few times before I can get a place. LOUSY!!! Tesco’s car park is better than this!

We waited for 5-10 minutes before we can have a seat. The environment was nice. It’s a little bit crowded. The business was so good!!

img_4915.JPG

You can either order the set dinner or a la carte. Of course, set dinner is more worth it. It comes with soup, main course, dessert and drink for RM19.90. I remembered my friend told me it’s only RM16.90. Is it the price increase? Or because it is weekend? I’m not sure.

dsc00185.JPG

I’m not sure what to order. Joze suggested the Fillet Of Fish “Grenobloise”. She has it before and she said it’s good. Lingzie, the author for Lingzie Tummy Treat, suggested me the pasta, Canneloli. She said it’s very cheesy. I think of having fish instead of pasta at that moment, so I ordered Fillet Of Fish “Grenobloise”. Anyway, I will try the pasta next time, for sure. 🙂

They served us with the bread and butter, followed by drinks before the soup came. Then, the main course.

img_4901.JPG

The soup was good. However, it’s too watery. If it’s more creamy, that will be perfect. Oh, the soup I ordered was the mushroom soup.

img_4905.JPG

The Fish Fillet was nice! Yummy! I have no complain on that.

img_4906.JPG

My friend ordered Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce. It looks nice! I should have asked to taste some.

img_4914.JPG

After the main course, dessert time! Oh my, the dessert was the ice cream. You can eat as many as you like. There are also toppings for you to add on. I like ice cream. I have a total of 6 scoops! Hehehe.

img_4919.JPG

img_4923.JPG

I also manage to snap the photo of the boss. He is taking the order from the customers.

img_4925.JPG

I will go again next time to try out other food.

Mizi Bistro was located at New World Park. For reservation, please call 04-2272921. Make sure you reserve a place before you go!

I’m not sure how many of you purchase the cookies made by 988. It’s good for us to do charity if we can. But here, I’m going to talk about the cookies instead.

dsc00139.JPG

The cookies looks yummy. The taste is good. But, it’s hard like rock! You will never want to try another one.

I was very busy yesterday and didn’t have the chance to have my lunch in the cafeteria or outside. I have no choice to ask my friend to buy the lunch for me. They went to Queensbay but they have lunch outside Queensbay, at the Restaurant Max Gourmet. In Chinese, called Mei Shi Zhi Jia 美食之家.

dsc00142.JPG

dsc00144.JPG

dsc00147.JPG

I don’t know what to eat. My friend read all those food in the menu. Finally, I ordered the food that I will normally order if I cannot decide what to eat: fried rice. Indeed, it’s Yang Zhou Fried Rice.

dsc00143.JPG

The fried rice costs me RM4.50. It worth that price though. It’s has 3-4 prawns and lots of barbecue roasted pork.

The restaurant is also famous for the egg tart and “Bo Lor Bao”. I will try to buy it and show you all next time. Stay tune~~~

One of the dessert I like, Bubur Cha Cha.

My sister came back for the Chinese New Year and my mom cooked it for her to eat. Normally, Chap Goh Meh is the day for this Bubur Cha Cha. Since she is going back before that day, my mom just cooked it. By the way, Chap Goh Meh is on 21 February 2008, Thursday.

For those who has no idea on what is Chap Goh Meh, Chap Goh means the 15th. Meh is Night. Chap Goh Meh is in Hokkien. It’s the last day (15th day) of the Chinese New Year.

How to make a Bubur Cha Cha? I’m not really know the exact ingredient needed. Coconut Milk will be one of them. Besides, there will be sweet potatos, yam, “ti kuih”, banana, sago, etc.

dsc00057.JPG

dsc00058.JPG

Now, you no need to wait until Chap Goh Meh, every day you also can get it from dessert stalls.

dsc00067.JPG

So, will you cook or have Bubur Cha Cha on Chap Goh Meh?

I like to eat Mua Chi. What is Mua Chi? I’m not really know how to explain. Even what it’s called in English I also have no idea on that.

The ingredient is like the glutinous rice ball ingredient. But, it’s only white. The seller will actually take the white stuff and put it into the container which full of peanuts. Then he will cut it into small pieces. Fried shallots will be put on top and it’s done!

dsc00086.JPG

dsc00088.JPG

Last time, there is one who sell Mua Chi on the motorcycle. Sometimes, he will be in front of the coffee shop “Hai An” at Jalan Burma. Sometimes, he will be at the back of One Stop Shopping Complex in Pulau Tikus. But this one I’m not recommended. WHY? Because he sell the Mua Chi at an expensive price! One packet will be RM2 or RM3.

The one I’m recommending is located at Genting Coffee Shop, Greenlane, Island Glades there. The coffee shop that famous for the Chee Cheong Fun. The Mua Chi’s stall is beside the coffee shop. The stall beside the Mua Chi is the one selling Apom Balik. The Mua Chi is selling at a cheap price, RM1.20 and RM1.50. Last time I think is RM1 or even RM0.80. I’m not really can remember. The Mua Chi is as usual, YUMMY!

I went to Sushi King for lunch today. My colleagues wanted to “Lou Sang” and have sushi at the same time. So, I followed them. For your information, my colleague got the sms that can Buy 1 get 1 Free. 🙂

We ordered the small “Yu Sang”, cost RM8.88. It’s served in a very very small bowl!! But, the “Yu Sang” is very nice! Yummy!!

img_9406.JPG

img_9407.JPG

This is to show you how small is small. You say lah, is it small?

img_9409.JPG

img_9413.JPG

We also have some sushi, total of 22 plates for 5 people. Each person is having 4 plates average. I like sushi, DELICIOUS!!

img_9424.JPG

This is the Big “Yu Sang”, costs RM38.88. It’s BIG!!! I mean, the plate. The plate is really huge. My friend sent me this photo, I just post it.

I went to have McDonalds on Sunday. I’m hungry and don’t know what to eat. So, I decided to try out this Prosperity Foldover in Mcdonalds at Prangin Mall.

dsc00039.JPG

I thought the foldover shoud be yummy. But, it turn out not to be. I’m not really like it. I rather have other burgers instead of having this. Regret!

The twister fries is the one I like. I like it since many years ago.

dsc00040.JPG

For those who never try out this Prosperity Foldover, you can save your money for something else.

It’s not recommended.

Met up with Taugeh in eGate together with Kacang, Tau Sar Pia, HNKP and HNKP’s hubby. Since Old Town, Sushi King and others are full of people, I decided to have our dinner at Noodle Station. I never tried before, so I think of having a try. All agreed.

img_4778.JPG

img_4779.JPG

There are a lot of choices on the noodle. Not only noodle, drinks as well. I ordered the normal Wantan Mee and Honey Lemon Tea.

img_4780.JPG

img_4781.JPG

The food was nice, yummy.

However, the waiting time is a bit too long. Another thing is, they serve me the wrong drink. I have no idea on it until the waiter came to me and tell me about it. I already drank 1/4 of the drink by that time. The Honey Lemon Tea I ordered is suppose a hot one but they serve me the drink with ice, become Ice Honey Lemon Tea. I told them is ok, no need to change anymore.

One more thing, All the waiters seems to be from Vietnam, I guess. I’m not really sure where they come from. Their English was not good, I’m not really understand what they are talking.

Overall, the food was yummy, the enviromant was nice, but the serving time should be faster.

Noodle Station located at eGate, along the Jelutong Expressway. Address and phone number as below:

There are so many sets dinner for you to choose from. I should have take some photos on the menu. The set dinner comes with soup, main course, drink and dessert. Overall, the food was not bad, can go and try other food next time.

The price was ok. The dinner set I ordered is the seafood bake cheese rice. It costs RM20.90 nett.

Tutti Fruitti Cafe located in Tesco Extra, Jalan Sungai Dua. I think there is another in Jalan Rumbia, near Bukit Jambul Complex area.

I went to Mommy Wang Restaurant to have lunch the other day with my colleagues. I heard from my friends, said the food there quite nice and the price is reasonable. I decided to try it out.

Mommy Wang Restaurant is a double storey building. The 1st floor is the cooking area, the dining place is on 2nd floor. The environment there not bad. I ordered Taiwanese Fried Pork Ribs set while my friends ordered fist fillet set and “3 layers” pork set.

photo-0361.jpg

It comes with the rice and 3 other dishes. For drinks, if you order green tea or red tea, you can get it with 50 cents less. Oh, one more thing, if you bring along your own cutlery, you can have additional 50 cents off. This is a good idea, right?

photo-0363.jpg

From Jan 15 to Feb 29, if you spend over RM20, you can get a token. For 1 token, you can redeem 1 pudding; 2 tokens, 1 tea type drink; 3 tokens, 1 fruit juice drink; 4 tokens 1 lunch box; 5 tokens, 1 special imported gift from Taiwan.

They also provide delivery. You can call 04-2613339 for Georgetown area or 04-6421339 for Bayan Baru Area. I went to the Bayan Baru outlet, it’s located beside Sunshine Square, same roll as Eden. Call them if you don’t know where is it.

One question, the card for the token sticker is actually from Uncle Jimmy. Is Uncle Jimmy the husband of Mommy Wang?

OK, this will be the last post on food I have in Singapore.

I went to Golden Mile on the last day to take bus back to Penang. After getting the bus number, we (my aunt and I) decided to have some food since it’s still early. We went around the Golden Mile Complex and finally decided to have dinner at this thai restaurant. We just simply pick since this is the one with more customers.

We ordered fried rice and tom yam. The fried rice was normal but I like the tom yam. These were the last food I have during this Singapore Trip.

img_4635.JPG

Singapore~~~ Wait for my next trip. I will go again, for sure.

I know I know, no need to remind me, I know it’s already more than a month, but I still want to post it. The breakfast was taken around China Town area. I have the so call “Xiao Guo Mian”, which is the noodle plus the soup. It costs $6.90 or $8.90, I’m not really remember. 😀 Just a normal noodle, not special.

img_4628.JPG

img_4629.JPG

img_4630.JPG

After the breakfast, we go to have the chicken pie. We suppose to have this as breakfast, my cousin suggested it. However, my aunt doesn’t want to have the chicken pie as breakfast. So we went to the restaurant opposite instead. I want to try out the chicken pie and my aunt wants coffee, since the restaurant we have for breakfast doesn’t have coffee, we walked over to the shop again.

The chicken pie was not bad. I ordered a quarter pie. They only have quarter, half and whole.

img_4632.JPG

img_4631.JPG

My aunt ordered a double expresso. Initially she ordered a normal expresso but due to her “kia su”-ness, she changed her mind. (Hahaha, don’t know she will kill me or not for saying her like this. But she doesn’t have my blog address, so still OK.) She regret for ordering that. You know why? You will know why from the photo below:

I have my Mos Burger with Hoon. Of cause, I ordered the Rice Burger (Headmaster’s recommendation). It’s special, tasty and yummy. I think I ordered the one with Unagi, if I’m not mistaken (It’s already a month since I’m back from Singapore!!!! And I still have not finished posting all the posts yet. My goodness! @_@)

img_4626.JPG

What did Hoon order? Don’t ask me, I forgot. Maybe you can tell me by looking at the photo below. Is it a fish fillet burger? Looks alike. 😀

I went to TESCO Extra the other day with my mom to pick up her glasses. Since already there, we went into the departmental store to walk around and see whether we have anything to buy or not.

We walked to the frozen area and my mom found this, Yam Dessert. It got 4 servings inside the packet. I checked on the price and it’s a WOW for me, RM11++, means around RM3 for one serving.

photo-0344.jpg

I’m not sure how nice it will be since it’s frozen. Anyone try this kind of frozen dessert before?
