Finally, I got the OTA update from Google on July 4.

On July 4 afternoon, as usual, when I want to check my phone for any messages or call, I got this System Update message on my phone, telling me to install the new upgrade! The very first thing I did, I run to grab my camera and take the photos on the update screen.

I clicked on more info and the next screen was actually telling you what will be the changes on this upgrade.

After restarting the phone, it is with Android 2.2 FRF91 Build. My nexus One become so smooth when scrolling and switch from one app to another. I am so happy that I have the OTA upgrade finally, which I have waited for around one month!

One more thing, Android 3.0 will be coming out this fall. I think all the Nexus One owners will get the update by end of the year, hopefully. Gingerbread, will be the name for Android 3.0. For sure, Android 3.0 will be a huge jump for Google. Let’s wait it patiently.

I have been waiting for more than a week on the Android 2.2 upgrade for my Google Nexus One. Nic, my only friend who owned a Google Nexus One, already upgraded to Android 2.2 manually. Yes, the upgrade file is available online for those who cannot wait for the OTA (Over The Air) upgrade. I also have the file, but I decided not to upgrade manually and wait.

From the news, the upgrade file from the internet is not the official release upgrade from Google. It will be the official release upgrade if you got it through OTA upgrade. My sister also own the same phone as I do now. I think she will let me know once she got the update. She is checking it every morning. Hahaha……

I hope I will get the upgrade soon, most probably by this month.

Finally, I got my Google Nexus One on Monday. Google Nexus One is only available in US, UK, Hong Kong and Singapore for the time being. If you want to have it, you will need to buy it online from these 4 countries. For my case, I asked my cousin to get it for me from Singapore during February. The phone reached him end of February. However, I need to wait for 16 days before I got it.

Google Nexus One is exactly the phone I need. I bought this rather than iPhone because too many people are using the iPhone, make it become so normal. I don’t like the stuff that many people are using. Besides, iPhone need to stick to the service provider contract and more expensive! For Google Nexus One, I only need to pay for the phone, I can use back the plan that I am currently tied to.

Google Nexus One is just simply amazing. I fall in love with it within seconds. Until now, I am still exploring on the feature and installing applications to try them out. Maybe I will discuss more on the next few post.

Recently, I seldom see any advertisement on the diet program from the newspaper. There is time when diet program is so popular. Everyday, you can see the advertisement from all the media, no matter from newspaper, radio or even television. Some people will try to consume the diet pill. Some prefer not to eat, only eat fruits and drink water. To me, exercise is the most important. We need to exercise everyday. Beside exercise, we also need to have proper diet.

It is good if I can work from home. I always dream of having my own home business. I can do it at home and no need to wake up so early in the morning just to go to office. Besides, I can plan my own time to do my stuff and not directed by someone. It will be less stress since I will have more freedom. Stress and freedom is the main concern for me to select my future job.

I installed Mozilla Firefox into my working laptop when I’m in Singapore. My laptop still using the old version of IE which is IE6. It is not recommended for us to install IE7.

Why I install Firefox in the first place? YES, I think you can get the answer, IE just SUX!!!

IE6 cannot have multiple tab in one window. Although IE7 already has that feature, but I cannot install IE7 in my laptop, remember? Firefox has this feature!

After using the Firefox for a while, I start to like it. When you are typing something in Firefox, you no need to worry on the spelling anymore. If you type a word wrongly, you will see a red dot line underneath it.

firefox1.JPG

You can change it by just right click on that word and choose the correct spelling. Great right? This is the feature I like!! No more mistakes!!

firefox2.JPG

I only can share these 2 features for the time being. I still need time to explore and play with it. If I find any great feature, I will post it here.

There are 2 whole pages of advertisement on P1 W1MAX on today newspaper. They are having promotions at the moment. For those who sign up before 30 Sept 2008, the modem will become a FOC item for you. If not, the price will be at RM999. Expensive huh?!

From the advertisement, it stated if want to get more information, can go to their website. However, when I was in the website, there are no information about the coverage, it posted coming soon on that page. I really want to know the service is it only applicable for KL area. I pick up the phone and called their customer service. I have waited for 3 minutes and the call drop it self. The auto reply message keep telling me the customer service was busy at that moment. After the call dropped, I never call back.

Is Penang having this service? If not, when it will come to Penang? Anyone have any idea?

April 16th, 2008  Posted at   Blog, How To, Make Money Online, Technology

Just after I upgraded, I immediately go to the admin page for my blog. The interface looks great! I like the light blue. Oh, I just like it!

Then, I go to write a new post and test out the multiple photos upload. Problem comes!! 🙁 I got the “HTTP error. An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later” while uploading the photo. I tried a few times and it was still the same.

* The screen capture is taken from hongkiat.com.

Then I search this problem in Google, I’m sure there will be solution. I was right! I found the solution from Hong Kiat’s Blog. We need to go to the public_html in the file manager in cpanel. There is a file called .htaccess. Edit and paste the following command into the file.

<IfModule mod_security.c>
<Files async-upload.php>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</Files>
</IfModule>

After the editing, save it. Problem solved! For more detail on this solution, please read it from hongkiat.com

After successfully uploading the photo, I try to upgrade WordPress 2.5 into my another blog. I do the same steps and this time, I got another error on the photo uploading: Specified file failed upload test.

Again, I Google it. It seems like we need to do some editing on 2 files:

wp-admin/includes/media.php, look for line 817, DELETE the coma (,).

814 file_queue_error_handler : fileQueueError,
815 file_dialog_complete_handler : fileDialogComplete,
816
817 debug: false,
debug: false
818 });
819 $(“#flash-browse-button”).bind( “click”, function(){swfu.selectFiles();});
820 });

wp-includes/js/swfupload/handlers.js, look for line 99, the coma (,).

96 jQuery(‘#media-item-‘ + this.id + ‘ .filename’).append(‘ ‘+swfuploadL10n.deleted+’‘).siblings(‘a.toggle’).remove();
97 jQuery(‘#media-item-‘ + this.id).children(‘.describe’).css({backgroundColor:’#fff’}).end()
98 .animate({backgroundColor:’#ffc0c0′}, {queue:false,duration:50})
99 .animate({minHeight:0,height:36,}, 400, null, function(){jQuery(this).children(‘.describe’).remove()})
.animate({minHeight:0,height:36}, 400, null, function(){jQuery(this).children(‘.describe’).remove()})
100 .animate({backgroundColor:’#fff’}, 400)
101 .animate({height:0}, 800, null, function(){jQuery(this).remove();updateMediaForm();});

For my case, I only need to delete the coma (,) in wp-includes/js/swfupload/handlers.js and the issue fixed!

Upgrade to WordPress 2.5 and experience the new features now!

April 15th, 2008  Posted at   Blog, How To, Technology

I upgraded my blog to WordPress 2.5 this morning. It has been there for some time but I didn’t do the change. Before I did the upgrade, I read about the new feature in version 2.5.

2 features that make me want to upgrade to WordPress 2.5 are: multiple photos can be uploaded at one time and the dashboard interface will be different. The multiple upload is the best change in this latest version. I no longer need to upload my photo one by one. It can save my time.

How to upgrade? Just go to the cpanel for your blog. Click on the Fantastico De Luxe under the Software/Service section. You will find your blog’s name on the left and there is a upgrade to 2.5 link for you to click. After clicking on that, it will ask you to confirm before the upgrading. Once you click, your blog will upgraded to use WordPress 2.5 in few seconds. The upgrade is fast!

Some screen shot from WordPress 2.5.

Now, you are ready to use WordPress 2.5! 🙂

I’m not sure why our country Malaysia cannot learn from other country on the technology stuff. Don’t talk about others, only talk on the parking system will do.

Our neighbour Singapore has a good parking system in most of the shopping mall. Each car will install a device like our smart tag. Inside the device will have a smart card like our touch n go. When you go for a parking, the system will scan your card. When you left, the system will scan again and deduct the amount from the card.

For us, most of the shopping mall, we need to get the parking ticket. After shopping, we need to go find the machine to pay for the ticket. Then, we need to take the ticket with us. When we left the parking, we need to insert the ticket into the machine in order for the bar to open and let your car go through.

I don’t understand why we cannot learn the technology from them?

Another thing, the parking lot in the mall will have the indicator to let you know how many spaces are available for each level. When you go to that level, you can know whether there is any available parking lot by just looking on the light on top of that particular row. If it’s available, it will be green. If not, you can see the red light. It’s very easy for the consumer.

Indicator is showing how many parking lots are available.
img_4623.JPG

Red light means no parking lot is available.
img_4624.JPG

See the Green light? Yes, you can park there!
img_4625.JPG

Again, why we cannot learn the technology from them? Is it because it will cost a lot? If it is so, why they can spend millions or even billions of money doing those stuff that not benefit the people? Or they are actually “masuk” (masuk is a Malay word, means go into) all the money into their own pocket? This is only one of the example. If really want to talk about this topic, I think we can just talk for days.

I’m really don’t understand, do you?

What is Nuffnang Glitterati? It’s an exclusive program from Nuffnang. I received 3 emails from Nuffnang about this program. After some reading, for those who registered on Nuffnang, you will be automatically included into this IF (Yes, they have IF!!!) you do NOT have any ads from any other ad network that originates from South East Asia.

I think I’m pretty safe (Am I?????????) on this since I have removed Advertlets from both of my blogs. I only have Google Ads. I don’t think Google Ads is considered as the network from South East Asia. Right?

You can know more about this program from HERE. Oh, before I forgot, this Glitterati will take effect automatically from the 13th of January 2008, just 4 days from now. Will it increase my earning from Nuffnang? I’m not sure. Let’s see……
