I posted before on the Carbonara from Sweet Forest. I like it very much. Now, Sweet Forest implemented new menu, the normal carbonara became King Prawn Carbonara.

It has 2 big size prawns, on top of the carbonara. Taste wise, it is still the same like the old one. Nice!

Green Island Western Food was located at the new building, opposite the D’Piaza. We went there for lunch after recommended by one of the friend.

I ordered the Grill Chicken with Mushroom Sauce. The sauce is too little. The food is just normal. Not really very good until I need to go for the 2nd time or 3rd time. If we cannot think of other places to go for lunch, then maybe will go there. However, if really want to eat western food, Sweet Forest or Little Castle will still be the top choice for me.

With the Citibank Credit Card Promotion, you can buy 1 free 1 on all the pink plate from Sakae Sushi. It is pretty worth it. For the price of RM2 per plate, you can enjoy the sushi you want.

I like this Smoke Salmon Sushi a lot, besides the Salmon Sushi. I will always order these 2 when I dine in Sakae. With the promo, normally I will have 2 plates for both, total of 4 at least. The promotion is only valid for buy 5 free 5, which means, total of 10 plates. It is more than enough if you are eating alone.

It has been years since I have the Chee Cheong Fun from Siew Fong Lye coffee shop at Macalister Lane. The Chee Cheong Fun stall is the famous one since I was a kid.

No doubt, the Chee Cheong Fun is very soft. Many people from outstation will order dozens and bring back to their hometown. I still prefer the one from Genting Coffee Shop though.

Sushi King has a brand new menu recently. Most of the food has an updated version, including the Salmon Rice that my friend recommended.

Roes are added. Of course, with this addition, the price is also upgraded by RM2 to RM16.90. If you mix the roe with the rice, when you eat it, you will feel the roe texture and it is very delicious. It is a recommended food in Sushi King, besides all the Sushi.

My friend recommended this best pineapple tart in town to me. I never knew that there is such an old shop selling best pineapple tart.

It is not cheap. RM2 per piece. However, it is nice and yummy. The shop is located at Carnarvon Street. It is the second shop, beside the coffee shop that sells Lor Mee and Koay Teow Th’ng.

I got this Macha Cheesecake for free when I ordered the drink from Starbucks since it is my birthday month.

It has a strong Green Tea taste, which I like. However, if you are asking me to pay myself for this slice of cake, I need to reconsider as it is not cheap! It costs RM9.

Sushi King is having the RM2 Bonanza every quarter, if I am not mistaken. Recently, I will go every time to Sushi King for this special discount event.

Every plate will be at RM2. This is really cheap! If you want to have this RM2 per plate deal, you can also go to Sakae Sushi. You just need to have a Citibank Credit Card and it is not a public holiday. However, it is limited to 10 plates (It is actually Buy 5 Free 5).

Another dish I like in Sweet Forest will be the Carbonara. It is creamy and tasty. However, my friend told me that Sweet Forest has different chef for lunch and dinner. For the dinner, the Carbonara is not good. I never go for dinner so I cannot say much about this. To be safe, go to try out during lunch

Now, by adding RM3.90, you can complete your meal with a soup and a juice drink. Additional 10% discount will be given if you presented the Sweet Forest VIP Card , FTZ working badge or student card.

Sweet Forest is the new dining place in i-Avenue. During the opening month, it has a promotion: free soup of the day and drinks by ordering the main course. Olio Olio is one of the main course I ordered. You see it right. Not I wrote it wrongly. It is called Olio Olio in the menu and not Aglio Olio.

I like it! Although the portion is small, together with soup and drink, you will feel full after that. It has the spiciness and the taste of the spices make it to become better. If I were to go there again, I will order this one more time.

Mooncake Festival is just 20 days away. The Mooncakes are start selling since August. I bought this mini version of the Mooncake from the stall in the market. It costs RM1 each. It has 6 different type. According to the seller, it suppose to have more varieties. Just on that day itself, he only manage to get 6 choices. They are chocolate, coffee, lotus, red bean, pandan and pineapple. I like the lotus and pineapple. The rest are just normal.

I like to eat Mooncake but due to the increased price from year to year, I seldom buy it. Now, for just a pure lotus, without any egg yolk, it will cost for more than RM10. It is very expensive. Don’t ever mention about those with single egg yolk or even double egg yolk. Maybe this year, I will buy one to treat myself. Still thinking….

Pad Thai is almost the same as the Penang Char Koay Teow but the koay teow is a bit thin and short. Anyhow, I still like it because it has the dried shrimps and peanuts will be sprinkled on top when it is served. It is hard to get Pad Thai in Penang through the hawker stall. I managed to find one in the coffee shop along Macalister Road, which the good wantan mee is selling.

I bought it back for dinner. I think I should have eaten it there. I am not sure is it due to too long time inside the box, it has a weird smell when I ate it. It has the chili flakes at one of the corner. I was regret to mix them up because it has become too spicy.

I would like to try it again for the second time. This time, I will eat it there on the spot.

Thailand is famous for the coconut ice cream. If you are in Penang and crave for that, no worry, you can have it in Penang, anytime you want.

Just head towards Lorong Burma, where the Sleeping Buddha Temple is located. Inside the compound, there is a stall selling it. It costs RM1 for the cone you see above. There are another option, which is in a cup instead of cone. Small cup costs RM1.50 and Big Cup is RM2.50. What is the difference? For the cone, you will only have once scoop and peanuts sprinkle on top. For cup, you will have a few scoops of the coconut ice cream, together with the corn, peanut and “Atap Ji”.

Taste wise, I am not really can taste the coconut flavor. It is just a so so to me. Not really satisfy with that.

Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken, another option for you beside the Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak. What is the different between 2 of them? Nothing much, just the curry chicken change to fried chicken.

I will try to avoid fried chicken when making the order. Of course I like fried food like others do. But I just need to control from taking them, once in a while is OK.
